Nautilus, Inc. Recognizes Passing of the Founder of Nautilus Equipment

“The fitness innovations Mr. Jones brought to market are what first established the Nautilus brand as the gold standard in fitness,” said Bob Falcone, chairman and CEO of Nautilus, Inc. Jones had not had any association with Nautilus since 1986 when he sold his interest in the company and brand to Vancouver, Wash.-based Direct Focus, Inc. in 1999.
“Arthur Jones was the founder of modern-day exercise,” said Greg Webb, a Nautilus, Inc. vice president of product development who began working with Jones in 1977. “He had an incredible ability to create the interface between man and machine by incorporating biomechanics into exercise equipment.”
