Understanding the Process

Considering a New Year’s direct mail campaign to capture new members? If you’re unfamiliar with the process, here are the steps to consider:

1.

Write your message and call to action.

2.

Add the graphics. Be sure to use a format that is acceptable to a commercial printer (not Microsoft Word, jpeg or pdf files).

3.

Source a printer who can get the job done and delivered on time.

4.

Design a mailing strategy to determine when and where to deliver your campaign.

5.

Decide on a delivery method. Options include Canada Post and inserting your document in a local magazine or newspaper.

6.

Determine how you will handle the phone calls, tours and other outcomes that result from the promotion.

7.

Determine how you will measure the success of the campaign.
