Thief Targets Ontario and Quebec Gyms
| Ontario’s Niagara Regional Police Service reports there are outstanding arrest warrants in Niagara, Toronto, Kingston and in the province of Quebec for a female thief targeting fitness facilities. The suspect has been active and has eluded police for the past year.
The woman enters clubs, sometimes alone and sometimes accompanied by another woman, by buying a day pass usually during the lunch hour. She provides a false name and false personal information. She has used a counterfeit driver’s license in the name of Carolyn Brown and at other times has verbally used the name Shawnee. The woman enters women’s locker room, removes locks and steals purses. She then immediately maxes out the credit cards stolen from the purses. She also uses the stolen debit cards to access victims’ bank accounts and writes stolen personal cheques. |
