…To Attend, FIC’s Annual Canadian Forum and Go Canada Reception at: The IHRSA Trade Show This Coming March – Sponsored By Fitness Business Canada


This year’s Canadian Forum, will be held on Weds, March 18, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the Moscone Centre North (room location to be announced).
This year’s event features Brian Gilbank, association manager of Fitness Industry Canada, Lauretta Stace, CEO of Fitness Australia, Helen Durkin V.P. of Public Policy for IHRSA and David Patchell-Evans, president of Goodlife and CanFitPro and board member of FIC and IHRSA.
During The Forum:
Brian Gilbank will provide an overview of the current operations of FIC highlighting the successes of its Adult Fitness Tax Credit Campaign and the immense progress made during its first three years of operation.
He will also review the music licensing Tariff No: 6 from the Neighbouring Rights Collective of Canada.
Lauretta Stace will discuss Fitness Australia’s similar battle with the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia and the reason FIC needs to continue our fight against the NRCC.

David Patchell-Evans, will discuss the state of the Canadian fitness industry including advice for club owners and operators during this economic downturn.

Directly following The Canada Forum, FIC will host its annual Go Canada reception to thank members for their continuing support. It will be held at the International Club in room 121 of the Moscone Centre (North). The Go Canada Reception is open to all Canadian delegates and provides a great venue and opportunity to meet and discuss Canadian fitness issues with industry leaders and experts from across Canada.
