Énergie Cardio and GoodLife Join Forces
SAINT-JÉRÔME, QC – Alain Beaudry, president of Énergie Cardio (EC) and David Patchell-Evans, founder and CEO of GoodLife Fitness and IHRSA board chairman, announced that they have entered into a conditional partnership in Québec.
Day-to-day management, the people who make the decisions, the employees and the brand of Énergie Cardio will remain unchanged in Québec.
Énergie Cardio was founded in 1985 in Saint-Jérôme, Québec with current president Alain Beaudry at the helm. The company boasts more than 65 clubs, 140,000 members and 1,600 employees across Québec. GoodLife was founded by David Patchell-Evans in 1979 in London, Ontario.
“Through the partnership with GoodLife, we will emerge as one of the top five largest physical fitness networks on the planet with close to 275 centres, “says Beaudry. “Our organization, franchisees and members will only benefit from this association, through things like cost savings, access to a larger network of clubs and the combined expertise, all still at competitive prices,”.
“GoodLife’s recent acquisition of Nubody’s Fitness in Atlantic Canada brought our total number of clubs to 191,” says Patchell-Evans. “Since Énergie Cardio leads the way for health and fitness in Québec, the combined strength and expertise of our two companies means more benefits for members and access to more clubs.” The six current GoodLife clubs in Quebec will be rebranded Énergie Cardio.
