VANCOUVER – B.C. fitness chain Fitness World announces that it has become part of the Steve Nash Sports Club brand and that its clubs will now be known as Steve Nash Fitness World.

This acquisition positions the Steve Nash Sports Club as the largest fitness brand in British Columbia, offering its members 15 fitness destinations. There are also plans for immediate expansion.

Nash says, “Fitness World is the first club where I worked out growing up in Victoria, and I consider the founder, Henry Polessky, an icon in the Canadian fitness industry…We’re dedicated to providing the ultimate lifestyle and fitness destination in Canada.”

Nash’s dedication to fitness and a better diet has made the Phoenix Suns star healthier and stronger than he was when he broke into the National Basketball Association 14 years ago. His business partners hope that this association will translate into marketing power and profit in what is said to be Canada’s first celebrity-branded national fitness chain.

Also involved is New Evolution Fitness Company founder Mark Mastrov who has created fitness chains including 24 Hour Fitness. Polessky will continue as director.
